A Christmas Story in the the Big City

One of my favorite holiday movies is "A Christmas Story". It is great story of little Ralphie and his Christmas wish for a "Red Rider" beebee gun. In the end he receives it from his father along with some wonderful family moments that he will remember for a life time. For the first time, the movie was set into a musical and performed at the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle--Excellent!
Jeff, Wyatt and I went to Seattle overnight, stayed at the "Hyatt Place Hotel", a great place to stay. It is right across the street from a Lacrosse sports store (instant Christmas shopping), a few blocks away from the best coffee in town - "Uptown Espresso", and they will shuttle you anywhere within a 1 mile radius- evening shopping, Dragon Fish Happy Hour, and the 5th Avenue theater--perfect!
The best part of going to the big ciy is we have family that lives there and were able to visit them. Jeff's sister Janice invited Jane, Tom and our family over for a feast of Christmas cheer and delicious food. She has a lovely apartment on Queen Anne Hill. It was a perfect way to end our stay in Seattle. We are so blessed with family!

Dance, Dance, Dance

We had a great day with the girls on Wednesday. We had pizza lunch with Jeff and Grandma V.H. at Milts and played the day away. Cassy wanted the Wii dance game for Christmas-great idea! Cassy and Lexxy won most the time, but I burned a lot of calories and had fun. Looking forward to another day of dancing next week.

Ohhhh...the LOVE!!!

I don't mean to make you jealous, but it's true...I married a romantic. He remembers our engagement anniversary every year and gives me flowers or sweets. This year, my favorite - 19 chocolate covered cherries and a chocolate bar with a message! Twenty years ago yesterday, December 17, 1990 my sweetheart asked me to marry him and it's been happily ever after.

LC Football

Wyatt decided to play JV football this season for the LYNCS - a first for him. As a parent you get excited with all your children's "firsts" and this was no exception. I am very proud of him for having the courage and determination to try a sport he's never played. He was also able to suit up and support the varsity team, they had their last game Friday and it was a WIN, a great way to end the season! I was impressed by the encouragement he received from other players and coaches during the season, it is amazing how just a few words can make such a big difference--way to go LYNCS FOOTBALL COACHES & TEAM!!

Going GREEN...

Our Travel Agent (namely ME!) found a hot deal for our Phoenix car rental, only $205 including tax for the whole week. Found out later it was a glitch in the computer and it should have been $905 for the week! We went green, but that doesn't mean we got a "Toyota Prius"...

Where in the World is DEREK

Derek moved south to Phoenix about 6 months ago, so we decided it was time to check out his bachelor pad, spend some quality time getting caught up, and experience his "life in the desert". We went to "Roys" for happy hour with his roommate Brian - good food, good drinks and good company! Derek is working for a pest management company - "GOT BUGS?" give him a call and he'll take care of it. It was great to see him, made me miss him more, we got home and I promptly booked a ticket for him to come home at Christmas.

End of summer fun at the Lynden Fair with Cassy and Lexxy, and sister Tami. The girls had their hair done at a fair booth. Carnival rides, lots of animals, and yummy fair food- can't wait until next year!

Yellowstone National Park is AWESOME!!!!!

Vacation - Yellowstone National Park was AWESOME! I can't believe I waited this long to explore it. It is on my list to go back someday and I encourage everyone who has not been there to GO! We rented a small cabin at the Northeast entrance, very comfortable and had "Nickoli" the bison living in the back yard. The beauty is amazing, the wildlife everywhere, my favorites- Lamar Valley, North Rim view, Trout Lake, and Yellowstone Lake tour with Mr. Kredit.

Lacrosse MOMS

Wyatt had his last game of the Lacrosse season on Saturday in Friday Harbor. They played the #1 team in the division, they did not win, but we all had a good time together. Coach Peter (who is an awesome coach) let everyone have playing time and told them to have fun. Wyatt got a lot of playing time, we all had a great day in the San Juan Islands and it was a good end to the season.
