New Traditions

I love family traditions. For years at on Christmas Eve my family would sleep by the Christmas tree at my parents house. Then we grew up, had babies, who needed a good night sleep in their cribs so the tradition ended. As our family grows and changes we start a new traditions.
Last year we started a new one with our kids. We are not Italian, but we saw a show on the Food network of an Italian family who did the "Feast of Seven Fishes" on Christmas Eve. Well, we love seafood so gave it a try - a start of a new tradition in the Jansen family...

Christmas is my favorite time of year, I love to shop, decorate, eat sweets and celebrate the "reason for the season" with friends and family. Our house is beginning to look a lot like Christmas and I love it!!!

KONA grows up

Last Christmas we added something special to our family - our dog KONA. We surprised Wyatt with Kona early Christmas morning '08. After years of asking for a dog every Christmas the day finally arrived. She turned a year on November 14, our sweet little puppy has grown up...

My mom and I traveled to Spokane for a wedding. We have been long-time friends with the DeBoer Family and one of the grandkids got married this weekend. Luke and Krystle were an awesome couple and the family put on a wonderful celebration.

Turn Back Time Birthday Party -1960

Our good friend Dan was born Oct. 27, 1960, so our dinner group decided to have a party to celebrate his birthday, and turn back time to the year he was born. We even tie-dyed shirts that afternoon. We had a very groovy, peaceful time with friends.

80's Party - Hot date with "Don Johnson"

We were invited to an 80's party this weekend. We had a great time with friends, the band played a lot of oldies and we danced the night away. I can't remember actually dressing this way - maybe because it was soooo long ago.
