Dreaming of "Pacifica Seafood"

My friend Chris lives in La Quinta part time so she was up on the "best places to dine" in the Palm Springs area. You know you have a thing for food and wine when you go to a restaurant and take pictures of it. I just have to share our dining experience at "Pacifica Seafood"...Ohhh, the wine, the scallops, the dessert...I still have dreams about it.

Awesome Girls Getaway at the Desert

Last week I left my family at home and joined 3 friends in PSP (Palm Springs, CA) for some much need vitamin D. I think most doctors these days are recommending a little time in the sun for people who live in the Pacific NW and I was blessed with a friend who came to my rescue. She invited us to stay at her wonderful home at Rancho La Quinta for 5 glorious days. What a treat!

Where in the World is Wyatt?

Where is my son Wyatt lately? He is on the Lacrosse field! Wyatt (#32) played his first tournament this past weekend at Bender field in the rain, wind and snow. This is his first year so we are new to Lacrosse and have really enjoyed watching his games. Wyatt is always praying for "no injuries" for his teammates, and now I know why--it's a pretty rough sport (his Mom will be praying too!). They are playing at Lynnwood this weekend. GO NORTH COUNTY CAVALIERS!!!

Kona traveling to China

O.K. so this isn't totally travel related, but I had to introduce the newest member of the family - "KONA" - not the destination in Hawaii, our puppy and she is digging to China, not traveling to China. My son Wyatt has wanted a dog for many years and finally we gave in and surprised him for Christmas this year. Kona is 5 months old and loves digging & chewing, and chewing & digging. Good thing she is soooo cute!

Suitcase Survivor?

Why the "Suitcase Survivor Girl? Besides never losing a suitcase in my 25+ years of travel (I still have my aqua "American Tourister" luggage from college), there is a story behind the name....

Last September our office received an invitation from "American Safari Cruises" to an open house aboard their ship the "Explorer", which was going to be docked in Bellingham for the day at the Bellwether Hotel. You could sign up to win a 5 nights "Suitcase Survivor Cruise" in the Pacific Northwest leaving that day at 5:00pm. I had to pack my bags, go to work that day, and hope for the best. I could take a guest so I also asked my sister Tami, she packed survivor bags and waited to hear.
Well...we WON the cruise!!
"American Safari Cruises" motto is "Luxury in the pursuit of Adventure", and they definitely live up to it. It was a slice of heaven on earth, beautiful scenery, gourmet food, free massages, ocean Kayaking, morning yoga, wonderful and knowledgeable staff...

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth

Well, here is goes, the first post on my new travel blog. I haven't traveled in the past few months, so decided to write about some of my adventures last year - 2008 was a GREAT year of travel for us! I've been a travel agent for over 25 years and have been to many places, but I think the most beautiful spot on earth is right here in the Pacific Northwest...can you guess where it is?
